My Mission:
I am an expert in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the colon, the rectum and the anus. I have attained certification by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, the American Board of Surgery, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. I have completed advanced training in the treatment of colon and rectal problems/diseases in addition to full training in general surgery. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS).
I devote myself to provide to all my patients the information and special care that are needed for the best possible medical and surgical treatment of their problems and conditions. My goal is to achieve the best care and optimal patient treatment outcomes I know how.
A little about me:
I was born in Texas, USA and I grew up in New York, USA and Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
I obtained my Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts, USA after I obtained my B.A. degree from the same university.
I completed my six years of residency in general surgery from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)(Now Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School), Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Hospital, Piscataway/New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. I was the Chief Resident of General Surgery in my last year of residency.
I completed my specialized Fellowship training in Colon Rectal Surgery also from Rutgers Univerity Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA.
I completed my three-year Surgical Research Postdoctoral Fellowship training at the Department of Surgery, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, USA. as sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
I was an Attending Colon & Rectal Surgeon and an Assistant Professor of the Department of Surgery, School of Medicine, Louisville University, Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
